About Your Team

Angela Olita – Dental Hygienist

My name is Angela Olita. I am a Christian and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, TN. My husband and I reside in Collierville, TN with our two children, Beau and Naomi. I graduated from UTHSC with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 2010. I became a Dental Hygienist because I find so much joy in helping people discover confidence in themselves through their smile. It is a blessing to serve others. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to serve you.

Jamie Hurst – Dental Assistant

Jamie was raised in Atoka, TN. She has been a part of Great Southern Smiles since May of 2019. She is very passionate about helping others and strives to do her best daily. She graduated from Concorde Career College in 2016 as a Registered Dental Assistant. She is married with 3 wonderful children. In her spare time, she enjoys her children’s sports and going to the Tennessee River.

Juanita Childress – Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

I tend to answer to several different names, some are fun and cute for my more playful side, and some not so energetic or unique. But all have some pretty cool memories attached to them. Loving life could be my life’s motto, because I love how life has endless opportunities on who you can be; in one lifetime, it is just impossible to experience everything, so I enjoy meeting people of all walks of life.

Currently I am spending this lifetime as a mother of two beautiful perfectly imperfect monsters and working as an EFDA for Great Southern Smiles – with room left to grow.

Mary Marx – Dental Assistant

Hi, I’m Mary Marx. I’ve been a Dental Assistant for over 30 years. The dental field is constantly changing and I’ve been blessed to be a part of it. I’ve met many wonderful people from patients, to dentists, and my co-workers who have all been a big part of my life.

At the beginning of my career, I took some time off to take care of my family. I have a wonderful husband of almost 40 years and 3 beautiful children, two songs and one daughter and 7 awesome grandchildren. God has truly blessed our family and we praise Him every day.

Lindsey Moore – Business Assistant and Hygiene Schedule Coordinator

I began my career in the medical field as a Certified Medical Assistant for a Gynecologist. Then after 8 years, I switched over to Dentistry where I have worked as a Business Assistant and now also as the Hygiene Schedule Coordinator. In 2018, I made Great Southern Smiles my home.

In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, watching horror movies and playing around with my dogs, Wrigley, Navy and Lincoln.

Kelly Wortham – Business Assistant

I have worked in the dental field for over 20 years. As a Business Assistant, I help patients with treatment plans and financing options. I also help patients understand how their insurance works.

I have a son, Mark, and a granddaughter, Presleigh who I spend all my extra time with.

Cara Sandlin – Dental Hygienist

I have been in Dentistry since 2011 when I started working at Great Southern Smiles. I am married and we have one daughter. We love spending time together at home where we have dogs and chickens.

I love caring for our patients and building relationships with my work family and patients. I am so thankful that the Lord has brought me to Great Southern Smiles.

Sonya Gubera – Business Assistant

Sonya is a lifetime resident of Germantown, TN. With over 25 years of dental experience, helping create smiles and taking care of patient’s dental needs has been a passion of Sonya’s. Whether it is welcoming the patients at the front desk, assisting patients in understanding their dental insurance benefits, scheduling appointments, or any of her daily business office duties, she is ready to assist or answer any questions regarding dental treatment.

Sonya wears a few “hats” at Great Southern Smiles. She helps maintain our technology, equipment and computer needs. When she is not welcoming patients into the practice, Sonya loves to travel to the beach and the lake, entertain family and friends, home décor and enjoys many different music genres.
